In this image &#8216;The Inheritance&#8217; the art object ( I calling him\/her &#8216;Muttly&#8217; after R.Mutt signature on the Duchamp urinal) is receiving the inheritance of art research categorisation and theory from Sir Christopher Frayling. Thus &#8216;in, <a href=\"http:\/\/viagraonlinebuy.net\/\" style=\"text-decoration:none;color:#676c6c\">ailment<\/a>  for and by&#8217; and a litter of papers and books&#8230;.meanwhile Bruce Archer&#8217;s paper is overshadowed and the &#8216;New Knowledge&#8217; monolith floats over a wobbly map of the Uk academic scene:-) Next image is called &#8216;Meeting the good people&#8217; and will involve three statues and three philosophers.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/shaunbelcher.com\/research\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/raketwo.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-924\" alt=\"raketwo\" src=\"https:\/\/shaunbelcher.com\/research\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/raketwo-300x264.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"264\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>and original<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/shaunbelcher.com\/research\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/Inheritance.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-927\" alt=\"Inheritance\" src=\"https:\/\/shaunbelcher.com\/research\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/Inheritance-300x236.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"236\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The original sequence of 8 Hogarth pictures here:\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.soane.org\/collections_legacy\/the_soane_hogarths\/rakes_progress\/\">http:\/\/www.soane.org\/collections_legacy\/the_soane_hogarths\/rakes_progress\/<\/a><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"painting - The Heir\" src=\"http:\/\/www.soane.org\/u\/page\/1jsw_heir.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<h6>The scene introduces our hero, Tom Rakewell, who has inherited a fortune following the death of his miserly father. Tom is pictured in his father&#8217;s house which is beginning to yield up its hoarded wealth.<\/h6>\n<h6>Tom is attempting to pay-off a servant girl, Sarah Young. She holds a gold ring, revealing that Tom has seduced her with the promise of marriage. Behind Tom, a lawyer, employed to compile an inventory of his dead father&#8217;s estate, is stealing gold coins. A starved cat searches for food in a chest full of silver, whilst servants find treasure hidden in the fireplace and behind wall hangings.<\/h6>\n<p>Hockney originally only planned to make 8 etchings and was pushed into creating 16.<\/p>\n<p>This why images double up e.g. Arrival is 1 and Inheritance is 1a.<\/p>\n<p>Makes the task that more interesting knowing he struggled too:-)<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The second image from the Hockney Rake&#8217;s Progress parody rebranded as art research.
