Through art practice and research in local history archives it will examine how the disruption of traditional modes of \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcconfined\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 or \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcstatic\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 viewing may subvert or divert traditional fine art practice and historical explication. This will be contrasted with traditional literary conventions of a sense of place.<br \/>\nDrawing on contemporary new media and locative arts practice and theory especially Coyne\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcTuning of Place\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 (Coyne, <a style=\"text-decoration: none; color: #676c6c;\" href=\"http:\/\/sildenafil24.net\/\">order<\/a> 2010) and Kieller\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcCity of The Future\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 (Kieller BFI, <a style=\"text-decoration: none; color: #676c6c;\" title=\"viagra\" href=\"http:\/\/edpills-buyviagra.net\/\">viagra<\/a> 2008) this paper investigates notions of \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcenglish rural idyll\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcmythopoeic\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 and \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcplace-myth\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 (Shields, 1991) in the creation of a specific Berkshire artist\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s retreat (The Blewbury Artists, 1880-1999). It will examine how this may be re-conceived or re-investigated through a pervasive media \u00e2\u20ac\u02dclens\u00e2\u20ac\u2122.
