a sea of heads bobbing below a platform<\/p>\n

The Clash and Joe Ely in cowboy hat and boots<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Left later to drizzle and police sirens<\/p>\n

and a ring of police vans lassooing us<\/p>\n

Camden Town dirty and ugly<\/p>\n

best of British fists and chains<\/p>\n

and blood on bus seats<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

London calling to the faraway towns<\/p>\n

from Bristol St Pauls to the Medway towns<\/p>\n

London calling to misspent youths<\/p>\n

in bus shelters and darkened rooms<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

No idea then of the decade to come<\/p>\n

the buses smashed..the cordoned land<\/p>\n

those officers smiling no visors in the rain<\/p>\n

already training for Orgreave and Salisbury Plain<\/p>\n

stamping out the rhythms with a cowboy boot…..<\/p>\n
