Exhibition Proposal – Research Zone – Shaun Belcher
Aims
- To create two hanging ‘zones’ of complementary but different artworks ( minimum 12′ square – see below)
- To create a research space of tables and cabinets where a person could be seated and read material provided ( minimum 12 ‘ square) preferably in one of two corner spaces.
Description of work
Zone 1 – the research space
One large table and chair for reading presented material and (depending on space available) 6 small square decorated coffee tables and a filing cabinet (archive material).
Zone 2 – landscape painting
12 2′ x 2′ canvasses on a single theme arranged in a grid pattern to suit space designated.
Zone 3 – Multimedia
12 x 31 x 20 cm wooden boxes arranged in grid.
Dimensions
Zone 1: Minimum 18 ‘ square depending on number of coffee tables
Zone 2: Minimum 12′ x 4′ arrangement (perpendicular)
Zone 3: Minimum 3′ x 12′ arrangement ( perpendicular )
Materials stretched canvas, there boxes, find table/chair/cabinet/coffee tables
Weight Normal loading
Number of works 24 on walls, and 6 on floor – table and chair and filing cabinet
Installation Negotiable but prefer a corner if possible to create a ‘space’
Concept Archival/library atmosphere..
