Statement of Intent
I intend to build a profile once again as a ‘career’ artist. I wish to rebuild a career as a serious visual artist.
This career may or may not be supported by teaching hours at whatever level.
I will not conduct business that anathema to my principles even though it will rule me out of certain income streams and could be seen as an easier option.
I will continue to web design for clients when I can but not to the exclusion of my artistic practice.
I will use the Connect 2008 show to launch myself as an artistic presence in the East Midlands area. I know the pitfalls and the possible benefits of this high-end approach through extensive involvement in the artistic networks of Nottingham and beyond. It is a high-risk strategy in a difficult field.
I do not make artifacts exclusively for sale although I will sell if a buyer comes along. I do not expect or aim to survive from sale of my work in the short term. As my profile and artwork is recognized in the long term I may benefit financially but this is not the first priority. For now my main concern is getting some peer reviews and some publicity and critical appraisal for my work as I believe it deserves it.
In my present circumstances this is as much a statement of hope and belief as intent.
I will take each challenge as it comes and concentrate on the show ahead.
Beyond that I will develop my practice as time, sovaldi sale resources and circumstance allows.
